Bluetooth – The King of Communication Technology
The Bluetooth revolution has finally arrived! Many of you car audio specialist have been probably waiting upon this for years. The Bluetooth function, which was originally used in phones and laptops to connect devices together in order to receive data, has finally made its way to car audio systems – mainly the car CD Mp3 player as you probably already know. This little ingenious device lets you access your phone without touching a single button or screen! Not only can you make and receive calls, but you can download data from your phone, including your personal phonebook and music. There are a number of great models on the market at very different prices, from 100 up to 600 pounds.
Bluetooth is in fact a child of the 90′s. In 1994, five of the major communication companies, including the Scandinavian company Ericsson; Toshiba, IBM, Nokia and Intel got together and made Ericsson’s invention (Bluetooth) a reality. It was only a few years later that Bluetooth spread around the world, changing communication technology forever.
Ever wondered why this technology is named ‘Bluetooth’? The Scandinavians aptly named it after one of the most intriguing historical events in the Nordic region. The Danish King, King Harald Blatand, or known as Harald Bluetooth in English, united two very different lands and cultures: the Danes and the Norwegians. He ruled over both for many years and it is even said that he brought Christianity to the Animist Norwegians.
